Industrial Design Intern

kuemue is a fast-growing foodtech startup creating compact, user-friendly tools that help home bakers and small businesses produce food more efficiently. From dough dispensers to customizable molds, we design practical, real-world innovations that empower creators and foodpreneurs.

As we scale our product range and manufacturing capacity, we’re looking for a hands-on and creative Industrial Design / Product Design / Innovation Intern to join our innovation team.

This internship is perfect for design students who want to experience the full product development cycle — from idea to sketch, to prototype, to production. You'll work closely with our founder, engineers, and designers to develop meaningful tools for real users.

Product Design & Development

• Assist in the creation of new product concepts, focused on function, form, and user-friendliness
• Translate sketches and ideas into detailed 3D CAD models and renderings
• Help prepare technical drawings and visual presentations for internal and manufacturing use

Prototyping & Testing

• Build and test prototypes using 3D printing (FDM & SLA), desktop CNC and other tools
• Participate in hands-on testing and iteration to improve usability and reliability
• Support DFM (Design for Manufacturing) by learning how to optimize designs for production

Collaboration & Ideation

• Join brainstorming sessions and design discussions with cross-functional teams
• Research materials, mechanisms, and case studies to inform smarter designs
• Stay updated on trends in industrial design, home appliances, and food innovation

• Diploma/Degree student in Industrial Design, Product Design, or Mechanical Engineering
• Familiar with CAD software (Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Rhino, or similar)
• Good eye for detail, functionality, and human-centered design
• Able to sketch and communicate ideas clearly
• Curious, proactive, and eager to learn from real-world projects

• Have experience with 3D printing, CNC machining or hands-on prototyping
• Know how to use tools like KeyShot, Blender, or Adobe Creative Suite
• Have designed for plastic parts, small appliances, or consumer products

• Real experience developing products that go into production
• A portfolio of tangible design work and prototypes
